Evan Allen is a handsome, athletic, southern gentleman who now attends Georgia Southern University for no good reason.

After what he expected to be the romantic gesture of the century, Evan is looking at no friends, a year of ineligibility on the football team, and no girl.

He's starting over alone and doesn't know quite how to proceed. Certain members of The Crew refuse to let him face things by himself, taking him under their wing, and it doesn't take the ladies long to notice him, either.

Sometimes life doesn't go as you had planned. Sometimes it goes better.

Embrace it.

Embrace, the second book in the Evolve Series by S.E. Hall, follows the characters from her debut New Adult romance, Emerge.

Funny, romantic and entertaining. That's what S. E. Hall created with yet another fascinating story in the Evolve series.
Although my favorite character still is the same, Sawyer, this story is about Evan. He's heartbroken and with a lot of anger asking himself why and what Dane has and he hasn't that made Laney choose the other guy and not him. And in that process of trying to get over it, he meets someone that is the perfect girl for him: Whitley, also known as the girl who has been in love with Dane and the Laney's nemesis.
With that summary, you can see how this story gets pretty interesting. But it's more than that. In comparison to the first book, Embrace bring more laugh to the reader. While Emerge was all about sweet, innocent Laney who had to choose between new and pure love and the love of his best friend. However, this book is about Evan. He's, as we have said before, heartbroken and devastated and the last thing he was searching was to fall in love.
In the process of all that new and crazy love, they all become friends and thanks to that we get to meet The Crew. And with a group like this, you cannot stop from laughing. It's inevitable.
What I really liked about this book is that the author picks up this story line where it left off in  Emerge. And not only you get the opportunity to read Evan's point of view, but other well-known characters that were part of the story in book one, for example, Laney or Dane.
Pretty much all the characters are the same, with the exception of Evan and Whitley. You see two different Evans: the one right after the final break up with Laney and the funny and happy Evan that falls in love with Whitley. Personally I liked the funny and happy Evan more. In my mind he's not the crying type and asking himself why's her life so miserable and why Laney doesn't love him back. Come on, Evan! You're almost like Sawyer (no one can be that awesome, but almost!), so act like it! And that's when we meet happy, unpredictable and funny Evan, without leaving his manners behind and his personality. A completely gentleman and that makes the wait totally worth it.
And Whitley, too. We see her as the evil witch in book one, always trying to keep Dane by her side. And in this book you get to see that Whitley is not such thing; she's funny and sweet and a good person. You even like her, connect with her! Something that was not possible, at least in your mind, after you read the first book. I remember that I thought that Whitley was kind of annoying and pathetic, always trying to get Dane's attention, like there was no other boy in the world. And kind of selfish, like she was only trying to get Dane's love to make profit out of it. So it's nice to see her from a different perspective and see that we were totally wrong about her.
The romance between these two characters is simply perfect and the author couldn't have matched these two with anyone else, because I wouldn't see any other girl with Evan or any other boy with Whitley. They are perfect for each other.
Overall the plot was great and I had a really good time reading this second book in the Evolve series, I think mostly because it's not only about Evan, but also about the other characters from Evolve. I think that's the thing that makes this book worth reading it and you can say, after finishing it, that's not another romance novel.
And what made us want to keep an eye on the following books, because we have the feeling there's going to be more, is the fact that the next one, probably (*high hopes*) is going to be about our beloved and hot Sawyer (*fangirling*). I truly hope that this one would be as epic as the other books in the Evolve series.
So because of all that, we are giving Embrace a five gorjuss dolls. And, of course, we highly recommend this one, Book Addicts. You're gonna have a great time while falling in love with the whole "Crew". Don't miss this one!
